What do we mean AI?
Let’s be sure we’re talking the same language first. AI is more than Chat GPT which is one of the many AI tools/instruments. When defining AI, we need to understand that Artificial intelligence is the simulation of human intelligence processes by machines, especially computer systems.
Everyday we are introduced to a new AI process and/or tool. The AI space is accelerating at a rapid pace. The information I share with you today will likely be obsolete in a short period of time….which is one of the greatest challenges of AI. It is evolving so quickly and for those with limited technology skills, it can feel very overwhelming and intimidating.
One concern of AI is the impact it may have on certain industries and employee roles. We are seeing how AI is being installed in sales and marketing roles and subsequently replacing employees. However, without the human instruction, it cannot be utilized. It is reliant on humans.
Beneficial AI tools
Whether your business is in the senior care market or other industry. Or what your role is and the skills you need to operate effectively, AI may be very useful. As AI evolves, all industries will increase their use of AI tools.
A new business owner needs to be equipped with many skills to effectively develop the foundation of their business. AI can be beneficial for many of these skills, but to completely depend on AI is certainly not necessary nor recommended.
Beginning with the most suitable business structure. Are you going to use AI to decide your business and tax structure? You may be able to ask the question regarding the pros and cons of each, however consulting with a business attorney and a CPA is highly recommended. You can certainly do your homework and explore your questions using AI, but at the end of the day, a business attorney and CPA can discuss what is most ideal for your situation and then create the documents tailored to meet your specific needs. One of the AI powered legal options is Do Not Pay (ROBO AI Lawyer), not an attorney, however it can help to explain details that you may encounter personally and professionally that may ultimately require an attorney.
Developing a Business Plan is certainly a must for businesses anticipating funding issues, investment considerations and growth and development options. AI has evolved in this space and there are several tools available to create a comprehensive and accurate business plan. However, as with all AI tools, utilizing a legal professional to review plans is always recommended. An AI instrument for business planning is Upmetrics’ AI business plan generator, likely one if not the most efficient and reliable business planning solution available.
Creating a Website can be such a huge undertaking. There are so many options available. Rarely can a business operate without a website. Website development continues to grow and evolve and now encompasses so many elements that challenge new business owners to do their homework before creating a website. Understanding SEO, customer relation management (CRM), website update options, domain creation, hosting options, blogging, are several items that need to be considered. Zapier is a web automation tool described as the “glue” that connects hundreds of other web apps and services, allowing them to work together seamlessly. There are several options available for companies. Ask your colleagues for what has worked for them. Schedule a call with an independent web designer and explore the pros/cons between an online program versus and independent developer.
Staffing and employee retention are obviously critical aspects for business start ups and for growth. Employers in all industries are experiencing challenges in this space. There are many resources and companies in this space. Wonderlic Select is a pre-employment test that uses industrial-organizational psychology to measure a candidate’s cognitive ability, personality, and motivation. Essentially, it assesses whether the candidate has the necessary skills to perform the job, how their personality traits may affect their performance, and whether they are naturally motivated to do the work.
AI won’t replace workers in HR; a human in the loop is essential to making good hiring decisions. AI will, however, help recruiters focus on the uniquely human elements of recruiting, such as building relationships with applicants, partnering with hiring managers, and helping people find great jobs.
